City of Casa Grande and Arizona Water Company:

The SAVE IT! program is considered an Integrated Demand Management Program or IDMP. A demand management program is essentially a water conservation program, but the naming emphasizes that the utility and customers should both conserve water and work collaboratively to build the best conservation programs. As a private water utility, Arizona Water Company relies heavily on feedback from local communities to build programs that will be beneficial to the community and result in true water savings. The SAVE IT! IDMP would not be possible without the continued support and feedback from the city and its dedicated staff.

Through this collaborative effort, SAVE IT! launched in April 2021. The intention was to create a centralized hub for the community to learn about water resources and conservation. The launch included the kick-off to a public messaging campaign that provides conservation tips and resources for residents and commercial users. Every month, content is posted on the SAVE IT! Facebook page on a new topic, ranging from best practices for watering desert plants to drip and sprinkler irrigation maintenance. The launch also included the kick-off of the Water Wise Outside Program, which focuses on water conservation efforts for large-scale outdoor commercial water users.

Kohler Partnership:

Arizona Water Company has been working with Kohler Company since late 2021 to find ways to collaborate on water conservation programming for the benefit of the Pinal Active Management Area. Over the years, the partnership has grown and resulted in two exciting initiatives:

• • Kohler funded expansion of the Arizona Water Company toilet rebate program. In 2023 Arizona Water Company launched a toilet rebate program that provides all customers with up to $200 in rebate funds – $100 towards the cost of the toilet and $100 towards the installation costs for the toilet. Through the Kohler expansion, customers in the Arizona Water Company Pinal Valley system (Casa Grande, Coolidge, and surrounding small systems) can get an additional $250 towards the purchase price of a toilet, if it is an eligible Kohler toilet.
• • Kohler funded CII Water Efficiency Checkup Grant. Since 2021, Arizona Water Company has offered Commercial, Industrial, and Institutional (CII) customers a free water efficiency checkup to determine what water conservation actions these large-scale customers can implement. In 2026, Kohler provided a grant so that CII customers can receive up to $5,000 in funding to implement the actions recommended to them in the checkup.

This partnership with Kohler is the first of its kind for Arizona Water Company and is an amazing example of an industrial customer taking a special interest in its impact on a community.
